Castilian House

Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch of Roman and Williams have the eclectic-yet-elegant style down to a science. Their numerous commercial and residential projects are truly rememberable because of their unique architectural and furniture-design concepts, along with the splash of vintage features commonly seen in their projects. The couple, who met while working as production designers in Los Angeles, are a traditionally a New York-based team, however they crossed the country to design this Castilian house in Los Angeles. I'm always one for impressive tile, and the bathroom in this west coast house is so luxe. The blue accent is used to make the tile resemble wood paneling, which is historically accurate, and simply pretty. Something else you can't get in New York is year-around outdoor space, so Mr. Alesch and Mrs. Standefer took advantage of the LA weather and decked out the home's exterior space adding a Mexican tile wall fountain, surrounded by lush landscaping.
