Band of Outsiders

GQ described Band of Outsiders Fall 2011 collection as being "French New Wave meets classic Americana", and head designer, Scott Sternberg elaborates by explaining it as "what your dad wore, but reinterpreted for the future." So needless to say, it's going to be awesome; who doesn't want to see their dad in a mid-thigh length double-breasted fur coat? Mr. Sternberg is never one to bore his admirers, and this collection is the opposite of boring. The imaginative pairings of classic designs are truly what makes Band of Outsiders fun to wear. The color choice is like nothing else on the runway; and the pops of white make this Fall collection ready for a luxe winter. Like I said before, the amount of fur exhibited in this collection is definitely shocking, but it really makes me want to go out and buy a fur scarf (is that even what it is?), or at the very least a swanky hat. Mr. Sternberg never ceases to amaze me; he can make the clothes you mock in the bad 80s movies into some of the chicest menswear around.
