Preserving Pringle of Scotland

Scotland is home to some of the world's oldest textiles manufacturers, and Pringle of Scotland is one of the most note-worthy, having been responsible for creating the iconic preppy argyle pattern. Because PoS has been around for over a hundred years, they are now taking on the project of retracing their history by creating an archive of their iconic fashions. With the help of local universities in Hawick, Scotland, students as well as PoS hosted an event where anyone could bring their original Pringle creations, so they can be archived for an exhibit that will premier at London's Fashion Week in February. When a company is as old at Pringle of Scotland, I think it is a must that they have something to show for it, and an exhibition is the perfect way to display their long history proudly. Much like the Valentino retrospective, upon Mr. Valentino's retirement. The pictures below show the innovation of style from one of the first argyle sweaters, to Clare Waight Keller new vision for the company with her Fall 2011 menswear collection.
