When you put Natalie Portman, one of the most beautiful women in the world, in some of the most stunning costumes by Rodarte, you unfortunately get one of the most terrifying movies. Black Swan, which is quickly becoming a cult-classic, has some of the most amazing pieces by the sister team of Rodarte. Kate and Laura Mulleavy had the responsibility of reimagining the classic ballet of Swan Lake for the movie, and they did an amazing and startling job. The many pieces of costume for the dance sequences in the film were truly remarkable, and they made the choreography more real and enticing. The obvious color choices of black and white were used to set the tone for each scene, which made the audience aware of the story. Watching Black Swan was quite the experience, not only because of the chilling storyline, but because of the beautiful costumes, often offset by the dreary back stages of ballet.
