I saved Moncler's Fall 2011 NY Fashion Week show for last because I thought the presentation was extraordinary. Over 200 models gathered in New York's Grand Central Terminal Sunday night clad in the brand's signature down jackets and other sportswear. The entire collection is an outdoor-enthusiast's dream. Moncler has been making outerwear for over 50 years, providing the equipment for the Italian expedition led by Ardito Desio, and many more expeditions after that. The chic down jackets has made a transition from the ski slopes of France to the streets of Chicago and New York in the colder months; the jackets are totally recognizable for their shinny sheen, and the Moncler logo patched on the left bicep. Now that fashion week as come to an end, check back for daily-afternoon posts this week of all of my favorite womenswear looks.
