Versailles in the Sky

Between leather floors, and 18th-century lacquer panels reminiscent of Coco Chanel's apartment in Paris, in the study of Michael Smith's latest Manhattan project is truly beautiful, and rightfully dubbed "Versailles in the Sky". This apartment is the sixth project Mr. Smith has worked on for the owners, and they seem to be getting better each time. The designer, who recently completed the redesign of The Oval Office, dictated a strict neoclassical look. The apartment which is located on a high floor of high rise with northern and southern exposures, overlooking Central Park, is filled with 18th-century French furniture making the rooms delicate and fanciful spaces. What I love most about this apartment is that the color palette is inspired from the sky, rather than the usually used Park's greenery; the colors shown in the apartment are a mix of pearl-gray, cream, white, and a pale lavender. This apartment is as beautiful as its views.
