Glass Castle to Prewar Gem

Today you can look at this swoon-worthy apartment in New York City, belonging to none other than hotshot designer, David Kleinberg. The famous designer moved from a glass castle in the sky to the typical prewar gem on the UES, and infused each's design palette when doing so. Mr. Kleinberg kept many of the old school features in the apartment, like the marble fireplaces, original wall coverings, but then worked over his very personal spaces to his own needs; he outfitted the master bath with beautiful marble on the floors and up some of the walls, and also redid the closet in the bedroom to make use of the space and give the suite a little push into the twenty-first century with custom oak cabinetry. The subtle color palette in the apartment is pleasing to the eye, but then the totally modern stainless steal kitchen in beautifully executed to be practical and stylish, while not overwhelming the vintage quality of the apartment. If this isn't a democratic push into the new millennium, I don't know what it is.
