Richard Chai Spring 2012

Spring is about ushering in warm weather, and Richard Chai's Spring collection will usher those warmer temperatures in with warm and bright colors. Coming off his 2010 Menswear Designer of the Year victory by CFDA, Mr Chai was not afraid of using color that will make an impact on any outfit; the aquas, bright oranges, purples and teals all make a loud statement, but none of them seem to be too overdone or unwearable. His modern interoperation of a hawaiian print is surprisingly very nice. He is respectful when using these bright colors, because he always pairs them with lesser-impactful colors, making the whole look more calm. My favorite look from this Spring collection is the red shorts, with the khaki jacket over one for the hawaiian printed shirts. I could wear this entire look, it's fashionable, interesting, but not over the top. Hopefully we'll see more of Richard Chai in the future.
