Barneys New York Gets Personal

In a penthouse of a prewar building on the West Side of Manhattan sits a beautifully terraced home that has been reworked to keep the charm of its prewar-roots, while giving way to a more modern way of living. Barney's New York CEO Mark Lee and his partner share this Manhattan apartment after reworking the entire space to better suit their needs. The pair opened the maze of rooms up to a few larger entreating spaces, making the whole home light and comfortable. My favorite thing of the whole apartment are the pair of cube chairs clad in green velvet in the living room; the corky color and mod-designed set of chairs are the perfect element of life in the mostly grey room. The apartment was completely customized for the residents, having used some of the world's best architects to rework the floor plan. However, when it came to decorating, the couple used their own eyes and decorated the apartment on their own, scouring the globe for the perfect finds. And what finds they are.
