Margaret Russel Takes Over AD

The January issue of Architectural Digest is the inaugural issue for Margaret Russell, who made her transition from Elle Décor to AD, one of the oldest shelter magazines in the Condé Nast family. Ms. Russell is replacing Paige Rense Noland, who was the Editor-in-Chief from 1975 until last month.  The very stylish Ms. Russell was on Elle Décor’s masthead, one of the chicest design magazines in the country, for just over 20 years. She was on the team that launched the mag in 1989. Ms. Russell will hopefully breathe new life into the dilapidated Architectural Digest, making it more interesting and more modern, but still being sensible to its rich history of fashionable interiors. The January issue is one of the best issues I’ve seen in a while, including two apartments in Paris, a lovely estate in Holmby Hills, a secluded island retreat in Brazil, a New York City penthouse, as well as a seaside home in California designed by Chicago architect, Dirk Denison, and even a look inside Sting and Trudy Styler's Tuscan getaway. Margaret Russell made a great first impression, and hope she keeps them coming!
