Persol, For the Sun

Walking around the streets of Rome, the obvious choice of sunglasses by Italian men and women are Persol. The classic Italian brand that was founded just under one hundreds years ago is recognized by the silver arrow that links the frames to the side bars of each pair of sunglasses, as well as their eyeglasses. The company was founded in hopes of shading pilots' eyes from the sun, getting the name Persol, which translates to "per il sole," in Italian, meaning "for the sun." Steve McQueen made these shades note-worthy in the late sixties, thus creating a lasting trend today; countless numbers of celebrities and people of interest are seen sporting the silver arrow-adorned sunglasses, giving themselves a look of calmly cool and astutely badass.
