Everyone knows I'm a sucker for prewar buildings on the Upper East Side. And this little gem in the sky in one of the most prestigious buildings overlooking Central Park has been overhauled, bringing the layout and design into the 21st century, but still taking careful consideration of what it once was. The owner, having moved from a duplex, needed space for entertaining, so opening up the entry hall to the living, and making the kitchen an eat-in kitchen, big enough to welcome guests was a must. The art and furnishings throughout the apartment stayed neutral, not wanting to create any distractions from the views of the Park and Manhattan. Now, the apartment did not just have a few nips and tucks, it was completely renovated to its current state, all overseen by the firm Shelton, Mindel & Associates. This gracious coop is the epitome of luxe in every sense of the word, for the stately foyer, to the expansive public rooms, and the grand outdoor space, this home will last another 100 years.
