In preparation for the brisk autumn weather, I acquired a tweed blazer from H&M and am now thinking tweed is going to be a great story this Fall. The heavy wool fabric is the most practical material to wear during the day, and is generally nice enough to wear in the evening. Along with its rich hues in the brown or grey families, tweed jackets, vests, and pants no longer belong on the shooting fields of English estates. Another great thing about a tweed story is the versatility that comes with the itchy-in-a-good-way fabric; slapping on a brightly colored sweater underneath a tweed blazer is classically cool, as well as warm. Or you can practically wear any kind of shirt under the jacket or vest and still look like you know what you're doing, I think a nice plaid shirt has quite a nice aesthetic, with just enough texture to compliment the heavy tweed. I think if you're need of any inspiration on how to work the tweed-look, trying looking at Ralph Lauren's website... he'll give some inspiration, just look at the photo above.
