Thanks & Kind Regards

I would like to thank Traditional Home magazine for putting together my inaugural trip to the Hamptons and hosting such a great opening gala for the showhouse. I was honored to be asked to take part in such a great event, and be able to see such extraordinary design work by all of the designers.

Not only was Traditional Home kind enough to invite me the event, but also the great people at Lillian August who made the trek out to Watermill possible and extraordinarily comfortable.

This may have been my first time working with these great groups of people, but I certainly hope it is not the last.

Hampton Designer Showhouse Part IV

With the week ending today, so will our posts about the Traditional Home Hampton Designer Showhouse. The last set of rooms I'd like to share with you are the master bedroom, along with the baby's room. Both equally chic, but with totally different moods. The master bedroom is bright, airy, and most all... sexy. Yes, I said sexy. When your bed has a tray of fruit, vodka, and whip cream, there can only be one thing on the agenda... putting a baby in the room next door. The large master bedroom is painted and peach color, with faux-finishing above the wainscoting. The centrally located bed is placed in the exact middle of the room, bringing its occupants closer to the wall of windows looking onto the lawn. The bed itself is an oversized green upholstered headboard and frame with mismatching side tables. The bedroom has enough space for laying on the bed, sitting at a desk, or lounging on the sofa. The bedroom has a gorgeous view of the yard, along with large open-air balcony, and adjacent to the master is the nursery, for easy access but enough separation for optimal privacy.

Hampton Showhouse Part III

One of the main reasons I would ever want a home in the Hamptons is to host guests throughout the summer. And with this guestroom, designed by Katie Leede, I would most certainly not be ashamed to put any guest up in here. The soft blue moldings on the paneling along with the coffered ceiling beams are the perfect compliment to the blue and green pattern on the wallpaper. The upholstered headboard is the perfect opposite to the sleek and modern glass-topped desk across from it, both making the room feel contemporary but comfortable. This mature guest room is definitely for the parents of the children that are staying across the hall... See below.

And don't forget to check back on Friday for the conclusion of the Hampton Design Showhouse coverage, all brought to you by Traditional Home.

Hampton Showhouse Part II

The comfortable great room, designed by the Lillian August Company was once a cavernous space, but then it was filled in with the perfect pieces of furniture and art. The room's tall ceilings are grounded by upholstered panels hung on the walls, while the sectional sofa provides a base for the entire room, which is accompanied by a beautifully colored shagreen coffee table. The natural elements in the room, from the coffee table to the pants used throughout create a sense of warmth in the room, along with the central seating area that will be the host for many close conver

Hampton Designer Showhouse by Traditional Home

Having only a few weeks left in New York, I was ecstatic to get the opportunity to visit the 2012 Hampton Designer Showhouse in Watermill, NY this weekend, presented by Traditional Home. The Hamptons are as chic as they come, so who better than Heather Clawson of Habitually Chic to trek out to Long Island with on the beautifully sunny Saturday afternoon? And boy, did we have a blast! The home is beautifully decorated by some of the country's top designers, which is ever so apparent in the design of the home. Series of rooms will be posted throughout the week, starting with the foyer, dining room, and living room.
