Redd Goes Pink

One of my favorite designers is Miles Redd, his unique approach to color, and eye for detail with accessories for a room have the ability to captivate the attention of anyone in a room, and will make them feel like they're in a different time. Mr. Redd is an export from Atlanta, and worked with the famed Bunny Williams, where he said  she taught him everything he knows. He is currently the Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta Home; I feel as though OdlR is to fashion, as Mr. Redd is to home design. His own personal apartment is below, and showcases his extraordinary eye for detail and color. Now I can't say that I especially the love pink scheme of the living room, but I can definitely appreciate the approach, and really love that it is fearlessly mixed with a red sofa and other pieces that are traditionally mismatched, but look great together. Also, the custom zebra-printed doors are exquisitely unlike anything I've seen. I especially love Leslie Hearn's panther painting above the white settee. The rest of the apartment has the most gorgeous finishes, including the master bathroom, which is entirely clad in mirrors. He has actually been known to host parties in his bathroom! The wall coverings were found in Chicago by Mr. Redd, and were originally designed by David Adler. Miles Redd is truly an inspiration, between his wide range of editorial coverage, to his vast portfolio of gorgeous projects, and he is now learning from Oscar de la Renta, who the true arbiter of taste.
