This spring GQ Magazine named it the shirt of the summer, J. Crew has perfected it... and I own three or four. The old school chambray button down is as classic as a guy (or girl) can get, and I have come to realize the denim shirts are easy to wear, and can be worn with just about everything. Matching it with a dark or light colored blazer, wearing it with jeans, or even adding some flair to it with a tie or bowtie, will make that chambray shirt look like you've been wearing them since Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke (see below). And don't feel like your stuck with a blue shirt when wearing chambray, the material also comes in different reds and pinks along with black. Take my advice, buy one if you don't already have one. And it's a style for both genders, the last photo is Ashely Olsen sporting black jeans and a light-washed chambray shirt with a nice number of unfastened buttons (wink).
