Back to Harbour Island

In an effort to escape the blustery winds of Chicago, I would like to revisit the Caribbean destination of Harbour Island. The luxe recap is courtesy of OscarPRGirl herself, Erika Bearman, of Oscar de la Renta, who recently reminded me how enchanting the tiny island actually is. The little mass of land, which is part of the British Virgin Islands, is home to some insanely chic people, and obviously some insanely chic jet-setters (see Mrs. Bearman & Co.). One notable resident of the island is none other than British royal, India Hicks and her husband, David Flint Wood. Their island-chic residence was already featured on Luxe in October, but calls for a review. Dream Dinner: Erika Bearman

This professional bombshell is as chic as they come, and represents one of the chicest men around. Erika Bearman is the mastermind behind the Oscar de la Renta fan base. She has single-handedly connected millions of fans via Twitter and Tumblr who all share a love for the richly luxe pieces from Oscar himself. Her airy anecdotes from Mr. de la Renta and special peeks inside the OdlR fashion house can only make me assume that she knows all about the world of luxe, and must be fantastic to talk to, considering she converses with people all around the world. Ms. Bearman is pioneering a completely new way of communications from brands to customers, her approach of creating her own content, rather than letting publications create content for them is great and definitely makes me respect her for breaking such a grand barrier. 

Oscar's Girl, Erika Bearman

So many people know Oscar de la Renta, especially now but not many people the know the (very pretty) face behind the classic label. Erika Bearman, the Director of Communications for the OdlR brand is responsible for making almost every girl swoon over something Oscar, and she has done this with the power of the internet. I became aware of Mrs. Bearman via Twitter, and soon fell into deep admiration for the PR power player and her pure chicness. Her extremely successful Twitter and Tumblr pages are followed by many, and they give an exclusive look into the world of Oscar de la Renta, and Mrs. Bearman herself. Her witty insights and vast knowledge of the brand is outstandingly interesting, and her spin on the world of Oscar is absolutely engrossing. I look forward her TwitPics everyday, because they are either of her working a beautiful de la Renta piece, or some behind-the-scenes moment in the atelier that can only be provided by someone who lives it everyday. I do not only admire Mrs. Bearman for her grace and intelligence, but also what she has created, a brand that was once reserved for the elite women of high society, to a brand that is admired by girls of all ages, because Oscar de la Renta is now accessible to them in their own realm.
